Tropical coastal ecosystems are highly productive habitats with high ecological and economic importance. The ZMT is dedicated to these ecosystems, and the understanding of the influences which alter and threaten them. Through its activities in research, training and consulting, the ZMT aims to contribute toward their protection and sustainable use.

The Future Day, a nationwide project day, instead offered them a possibility to get to know different training and study opportunities. Join the research expedition „Seas and Oceans“ on the MS Wissesnchaft

Starting on April 24 the exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft will be again on tour, this time heading for German and Austrian inland ports. On board, the interactive exhibition “Seas and Oceans”, also featuring the ZMT´s virtual coral reef, can be visited.
